Pokémon 30th Celebration: Target and Best Buy Are Both Hosting Events

> Quick answer: Target and Best Buy are both hosting Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration events, and Target has restocked rare sets, including the 30th Anniversary Elite Trainer Boxes (ETBs). If you strike out in stores, Amazon sells the 30th Celebration ETB for $89.99, which is way under market price, but you need an invite to buy it.

The Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration is one of the biggest collector moments in years, and the major retailers are all in. Two big stores are running events, restocks are landing, and there's a budget backup online if you know where to look.

Here's what you need to know before you start hunting.

What is Target's Pokémon 30th Celebration event?

Target is holding a big Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration anniversary event. For collectors, that makes Target one of the first places to check when you're hunting 30th Celebration product.

Big retail events pull big crowds, so plan ahead. Know what you want before you walk in, and don't waste time wandering the aisles.

Is Best Buy hosting a Pokémon 30th Celebration event too?

Yes. Best Buy joined Target with its own Pokémon 30th Celebration event.

That's good news for collectors. When two major retailers run events around the same release, you get more chances to find product, and the pressure on any single store drops a little. If one location sells out, you have somewhere else to try.

Did Target restock 30th Anniversary ETBs?

Yes. Target restocked rare Pokémon TCG sets, including the 30th Anniversary ETBs.

That matters because ETBs are one of the most wanted products in any big release. Restocks don't last long, so if you see them on the shelf or online, don't sit on your decision.

Is Best Buy a good place to beat scalpers?

According to IGN, Best Buy is a great spot for the latest Pokémon TCG drops if you're trying to beat scalpers.

Scalpers go after the most obvious targets first. Adding Best Buy to your rotation gives you another real shot at retail product, and it means you're less likely to overpay on the resale market.

Can you still find 30th Celebration ETBs at Walmart?

Don't sleep on Walmart. One Reddit collector struck gold at the Walmart release and walked out with 2 ETBs and 2 poster collections.

That's one collector's result, not a promise. But it shows why you shouldn't put all your hopes on one store. Walmart deserves a spot on your list next to Target and Best Buy.

How do you get the $89.99 30th Celebration ETB on Amazon?

This is the wild part. Amazon sells the 30th Celebration ETB for $89.99, but it's invite-only.

Mashable says the $89.99 Amazon price is way under market. So if you get an invite, it could be one of the best deals going for this release.

The catch is that you can't just add it to your cart. You need that invite first. Keep an eye on your Amazon account and notifications so you don't miss it.

What's the best plan for hunting 30th Celebration ETBs?

Keep it simple. Here's a store-by-store game plan:

• Target: Check the 30th Celebration event and watch for restocks of rare sets and 30th Anniversary ETBs.
• Best Buy: Check its own 30th Celebration event. IGN rates it as a great spot to beat scalpers.
• Walmart: Don't skip it. One Redditor landed 2 ETBs and 2 poster collections at the release.
• Amazon: Watch for an invite to buy the 30th Celebration ETB at $89.99.

Stores, stock, and availability differ from region to region, so check what your local retailers and online stores are offering. The strategy stays the same wherever you are: spread your chances across several retailers and move fast when stock appears.

Why does the 30th Celebration matter for collectors?

Anniversary releases are special. They bring in longtime fans, new collectors, and resellers all at once, and that's why events and restocks draw so much attention.

If you get product at retail, or grab the Amazon ETB at $89.99 with an invite, you're well placed compared to paying resale prices. At Greedy TCG, we look for the cards and products that can turn $10 into $100. Follow us for more breakdowns like this one.
